2006 at Mellerstain

Mellerstain will be playing host to a variety of concerts, walks, exhibitions and other events. Some dates and details have yet to be confirmed, so do check back to see what's been added to this year's calendar.
All concerts take place in the Music Room at Mellerstain, and are followed by supper (and wine) with the concert artistes.
Tickets for BMAG Members are £10.00 each, and for non-Members £15.00. These may be obtained in advance from the Concert Secretary, Mrs. Pauline Walker, on 01750 21687, who will also be able to advise if you wish to join the Guild.
Visit Mellerstain's beautiful terraced gardens and wooded parkland at snowdrop time. The grounds will be
open between 11.30a.m. & 4p.m. Refreshments will be available in the Courtyard Coffee-Shop, and 'guided walks' will leave the house at 2p.m.

(The Borders Music and Arts Guild A.G.M. will be held at 7.00 p.m.)
A concert given by prize-winning voice students from the RSAMD. The programme will include duets and arias over a wide range of composers with piano accompaniment.
'Galloway Antiques Fairs' presents a large variety of top-quality antiques stalls in the magnificent Robert Adam rooms of the house itself. Ticket price to be confirmed.
Note: Mellerstain will be closed to visitors on
Wednesday 9th May, during 'setting up' of the Fair.

Katie and Simon gave an outstanding concert last season. Their return visit includes works by Mozart, Faure and Prokofiev.
This acclaimed young French pianist has won first prize in several international competitions, and recently performed on BBC Radio 3. Her programme includes works by Chopin and Debussy.
The evening will begin with drinks and canapes; supper will be after the concert, as usual in the company of the artiste.
The Exhibition will be open from Sunday June 3rd, throughout the month on Sundays and Wednesdays to visitors to the House (with tickets), and on Thursdays (Gallery only) free of charge.
In partnership with The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, the Mellerstain Gallery will be showing paintings and sculpture both inside the house and on the garden terraces.

Fiona McLaughlin has just returned from performing in the United Arab Emirates. She teams up with Athens-born Panos Demopoulos for a programme including Mozart, Poulenc and Faure.



We are delighted to present these accomplished and committed musicians, who, since the trio's formation, have performed at major concert venues to great critical acclaim. The programme includes work by Beethoven and Faure.
