Mooie Scott's highly individualistic paintings and collages, the evolution of a process of drawing from nature, finding 'seeds, sticks and discarded materials' and assembling the harmonious whole, are much sought after by collectors. "It is the growth of each painting that I find so engaging. The work emerges, finds itself, spontaneously. As I draw in a space outside, I'm interested in colour, weight, scale, in pathways and erosion, in the texture of certain plants, especially where they grow in abundance. It is the space around these objects, the space around ourselves which I try to capture."
